For some few years now, I have been immersed into the conspiratorial culture, and have explored several topics (9-11, CIA, Freemasons, Illuminati, FBI, Bankers, Vatican, Jews, etc) in learning some of the things that have been either largely ignored or marginalized in mainstream society. It has took me some months, though, to actually learn how to discern what is Conspiracy Fact and what is misinformation, which coincided with learning some logic and reasoning, as well as delve a lot into Philosophy. I have not abandoned conspiracy theories nor abandoned the idea that various groups are “conspiring” against us, but I have noticed some flaws in the conspiracy culture.
- People in various conspiratorial circles do not really try to examine conspiracy theories (check for any evidence or source, or use logic and reasoning); they simply believe them out of preconceived notions that they’re true, just because it’s not believed by the majority in mainstream society. Thus, they are more prone to believe any conspiracy theory that may be outlandish, and even theories that may contradict each other and distort what actually is true. Examples: Illuminati, Freemasonry, UFO, Annunaki, Reptillians, etc.
They also expect that things must always be a conspiracy, and an exotic one, which is a result of looking at this information unquestionably. - There have been various con men or what’s called ‘controlled opposition’ (or simply those who are affiliated with the elite that they claim to hate), that have used fear porn in distorting information or simply making conspiracy theories that are scant in light of empirical evidence. They do so largely to make money and to create a cult to gain power. Examples: Alex Jones, David Icke, Bill Cooper, Zeitgeist Movement, Free Domain Radio, We Are Change, Jordan Maxwell, etc.
