It's got to be one of the most bizarre "sports" i've ever heard of, Weasel/Snake Stomping has got nothing on this.

No this shit is weirder, they bring out people often Man and Woman Couples give them a... rope/net/wire? or somthing, they pull on the ends and fling the fucking animal so high that it fucking dies on impact with the ground!

Is says they sometimes released bobcats that the women didn't like fucking with their dresses.

The thing is it doesn't seem as blatantly sadistic as bear baiting or dog fighting, it's just so damn absurd, I mean who the hell came up with this game!

"Heh lets release an animal with a bunch of people standing in a line and acroos from each other (like a water ballon toss) while they each pull the end of a cord and fling these fuckers up into the stratosphere!"

Image

I mean what the fuck kind of looney toons shit is that! And why did they stop doing it!? Did some foreign ambassador tell them how damn crazy they were?

Fleming's Deutsche Jaeger (published in 1719) produced this (above) image, and commented on it: "Skilled male tossers could toss a fox 24 ft. high...At a famous fox-tossing in Dresden there were tossed some 687 foxes, 533 hares, 34 badgers, 21 wild cats, and at the end 34 young wild boar and 3 wolves...."

I am thinking this is a old joke, likely never happened. Most women simply couldn't handle a bob cat being tossed up in the air..... the dynamics sounds false to me. This is likely a old practical joke.

Then again... Queen Elizabeth I used to torture and burn cats alive. It's where the phrase 'don't let the cat out of the bag' comes from. When I was a kid, I was told it was because people used to sell pigs in bags, and people would buy it without checking.... but now I know different. Elizabeth was one sick puppy.

Well they say i was usually a Fox hence the name and the pairing could both be Men.

It could just be a joke seeing as how bizarre it is, but apparently the Polish King August II participated in it demonstrating his strength by just using a finger.

That is not at all how the expression 'don''t let the cat out of the bag' was introduced! A pox in you and all your household!

Fox hunting continues to this day.

I was hiking one day and could hear a fox hunt going on in the woods around me. The hunters sit on their fat butts in their trucks, and let dogs chase the foxes for literally hours.

At one point the fox came exploding out of the tree line, running directly at me. He came so close I thought he was going to jump up in to my arms. He was exhausted and utterly terrified, running for his life.

And it was all just for entertainment.

Human beings are the idiot species. Not way back in the past, to this day.
