Anyway, the way I see it, it’s a modern day attempt at an original, Ancient Greek style tragedy. Fucked up parent-child relationships? General family fucked-upedness? Long delayed, sweet, poetic revenge? Sexual situations that should never, ever happen (but, we are disgusted to be obligated to remember, often do)? Mutilation?
Much like Oldboy. But a hella lot more explicit. I like this trend.
Needless to say, I was blown away by the movie.
