Is he mute? Can he not write? Do you have no way of communicating with him? ASK HIM FOR CHRIST’S SAKE! NOT SOME STRANGERS ON THE INTERNET!
The best thing to do it discourage him from persuing music. What good is sucess if it’s not worth any money?
