Skyrim: kicking dragon ass

Graphics Card Hierachy

Iā€™m thinking about going with a GTX 560 (possibly a 560 Ti) when I build a new computer this year. Iā€™ve never really had a decent graphics card. But then Iā€™ve been all about console gaming until recently. Iā€™m using a Mobility Radeon 4670 that came stock with my laptopā€¦Iā€™m just glad Skyrim was playable for me at all. I had go down to medium settings without any AA.

Summerā€™s coming. I usually buy a game to play. Skyrim or Witcher 2ā€¦?

Oh Godā€¦ I really want to buy the Witcher 2 but iā€™m broke.

Iā€™ve only played Skyrim, the hell out of it too, but from what I hear Witcher 2 is an excellent game as well. Sounds like Skyrim gives you a more open world with more freedom and tons of things to do whereas Witcher 2 gives you a tighter story and more tailored quests. Theyā€™re probably both awesome RPGs. Go with your first instinct, Iā€™d say. Whatever appealed to you first.

Exactely

Yep

Probably Witcher then, I played elder scrolls oblivion with the expansion packs and found it just too damn big, I ended up getting kinda lost and bored. I like my fun to have some direction.

So whatā€™d you get?

Nothing yet. Damn Witcher wonā€™t run on my system - GeForce 9500 aint up to the job apparently. Skyrim will work fine, but damnit, my conscience is twitching. If I buy the damn thing I know Iā€™ll get addicted and start routinely ignoring the kids, staying up until 4am every morning and being a bitch all day every day because of lack of sleep. I also want to write some childrenā€™s books and a text book for teaching over the summer, which will probably give me a touch of RSI, but for a good cause, rather than killing goblins, or whatever is the monster of the day in Skyrim.

I wish I was at Uni again.

Meh, just ration it out.

Yeah, cos Iā€™ve managed doing that so well with my nictotine addiction. :^o

:sunglasses: Iā€™ve done ā€œbetterā€ with my gaming, I used to rushe through it as fast a possible mainly just because I would play it every chance I could (probably stemmed from the fact that I rented a lot of games and got in the habit of needing to beat them within 5 days).

Now I just play the games i really like every day still, just not as longā€¦Still need to get the Witcher 2 though arrgghā€¦

Okay, Steamā€™s downloading skyrim as I type.

ā€¦And as predicted Iā€™m now completely addicted. Back when Iā€™ve finished the game. (Sorry Pav, debate on hold. )

Itā€™s funny because i tried to play again for the first timte today and I was uninterested within 30 minutes, i guess simply because i played it so much when it first released.

Side with the Empire!

Fun, isnā€™t it

I racked up a lot of hours because Iā€™m a bit of a completionist and when I first got to Whiterun I decided to do every quest available from the NPCs there, except the main quest which I decided to put off until last. And I proceeded in that way for each subsequent city, focusing just that city and all the minor quests connected to it. Markarth definitely has the best house.

Itā€™s cool, the last few days have been busier than usual, on a personal level.

I finally played a bit of the Witcher 2 itā€™s very good but itā€™s also extremely difficult.

Loved the game so much I made a video.
