We have a life in which 100% of our resources are constantly depleting, and constantly being invested. Our coordination as a single-coded carbon cell based body of cells has been carefully selected so as to get exceedingly efficient at investing these resources.

In case of the historical existence of the range of codes that comprises humanity, this relentless process of evolution has led to a genus of Homid that is comprised of domesticated, pack animals whose survival depends mostly on their ability to process and react to incoming and stored information.
Now, if you hear a conversation between a mother and daughter that goes something like:
-Daughter (around 8 ): . . . but then she stopped him from throwing the dolphin by using her staff!
-Mother: Oh, I see (smiling lovingly). You really like the T.V. don’t you?
… you realize a number of things:
It is obvious that she likes T.V.! Any exiting mix of different experiences is exactly what an information scavenger like us is looking for. Our organism hasn’t quite caught on to the fact (or at least not in every case) that we can design ways to manipulate even its basic functioning.
T.V. and all fiction are just such manipulations. Can you imagine a world without manipulations?
