[2012] The Cabin in the Woods

…fucking sucked. By all metrics.

But good news, there is occasion to talk about something interesting because of this.

Rotten Tomatoes: Cabin in the Woods, 91% Certified Fresh
“The Cabin in the Woods is an astonishing meta-feat, capable of being funny, strange, and scary – frequently all at the same time.”

The Cabin in the Woods is… a tedious film paving its own hackneyed way by “cleverly” mocking tedious films and their genre clichés. The problem with cabin in the woods is that it just isn’t that clever, funny, deep or scary. The film’s only meta-feat is that it begs you to bear its tedium and wait for it to become interesting. The return is pretty weak.

1/10.
Did they really play “Last” during the credits?

A legitimately interesting question: how the hell does Cabin in the Woods have a 91% rating on RT? Yeh, people can see different things in a movie and appreciate it differently, but damn I’d like to know what it is that people (i.e. critics) appreciate in this film!?

I don’t know but I do love the poster.
