Netflix Instant | Recommendations Thread

For those who don’t know, you can try Netflix for free: signup.netflix.com/

For everyone else, please use this thread to share recommendations of anything currently available on Netflix.

A trio of cultural documentaries to begin:

And for the record I think watching every documentary available on Netflix will meet or exceed the intellectual demands of a bachelors degree in one of the liberal arts, and will have equal if not better pragmatic, real-world application.

Cheers.

Do not try Netflix for free unless you have an extra $7.99/month, because you will most assuredly choose to pay for it.

It.Is.Fucking.Awesome.

I don’t even generally like much TV or Cinema!

Awesome.

Glad to have an extra $7.99/month…

I just cancelled my Netflix subscription.

They’re taking away too many movies, and adding far too many television shows. That shiz is irritating.

I did actually have a bunch of documentaries queued, but I can probably find most of them elsewhere for free, so meh.

^ I don’t know. As long as the selection isn’t utter shit (which it isn’t), they can do no wrong in my eyes at $8 a month. I mean, it beats the holy fuck out of cable if nothing else.

Meanwhile:

  • Sling Blade
  • Biloxi Blues

Both fantastic, and I just today realized that the hooker in Biloxi Blues is the mom in Sling Blade.
