I was in the army then, so wasn’t around for it, but he us one of the guts who bought the steel mill then quickly resold it in my town, the link above is from my town’s newspaper.
I’m still researching it, but all the stories I heard is he bough it, got a hold of the sales books, sold the info, then sold the companies, and killed off 90% of what was left of the mill. A few miles of the mill has since been torn down, a few miles of it remains, most of it mothballed. That remaining few miles only employees 600 some people. Serious tetnus shot across the length of my town.
