Sure, people do it to me every day at this place.
‘Offense’ isn’t derived from any assertions or charismatics, but rather the target’s response to such. It is a small but important difference.
If they listen to you or care about what you are saying, it weakens their beliefs & their “self”. What would have reduced their views could have been defended with anger, though…
