What about those that pretend to be civil holding only the facade thereof? What about those people?

Civility seems like the kind of thing where you can't effectively pretend to be civil without being civil. If you are acting civilly, you are being civil, even if you are only acting civilly in order to get someone's goat.

I don't know, there are plenty of uncivil people that pretend to be civil and use that pretend civility to control, manipulate, or stifle others.

But how one uses civility doesn't affect whether or not it is civility.

Perhaps we mean something different by 'pretend'. I understand that to mean something like "act like your doing something without actually doing it." And I find that the concept doesn't apply to civility, because civility is just acting civilly. So pretending to be civil just is being civil.

One is either being civil or one isn't, motive is not a part of it.

That is an interesting idea. Even if one is faking being civil "pretending" in order to pull it off, civility would still be the result. Further it seems, anyone with such capacity to be an "actor" in that sort of play, has got to act the part, which would imply they are aware of the difference, and fully cognizant of when they are not being civil.
my goal in life is to die and no one notices.
in other words; to live as audaciously as possible while drawing the least attention. Or at best something vaguely similar.
