Just curious, but why does Symposia require an address and a phone number to become an author?

It's ok - just put in 000000 or --. We don't actually require your details. If you do submit your personal details they will be treated accordingly:

Signing up is a hassle-free process. We do not send you spam. We do not give away your email address. We keep all personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act governing England and Wales and will never sell your data.

We'll discuss making it clearer that those details arent strictly necessary. It can help with account verification, though.

.
Speaking about account verification:
.
Dear ILP guys, I have a problem with the Symposia section; namely, I
can't seem to logon. When I try, all I get is the following message:

"Sorry, your login attempt failed. Your account is not confirmed
yet. Confirmation Request email was sent to your email address
Please click on confirmation link in the email in order to be
able to use your account."
.
And when I clik on that link I get the following message:
.
"Your Account may be already activated/Expired"
.
But when I go to logon I get the previous message:
.
"Sorry, your login attempt failed ..."
.
I think you see the problem --> infinite loop!
.
Good joke, yes? haha
.
BTW: Can you please comfirm my account so that I can logon
and contribute? ... Unless you'd rather I didn't bother? :(

I'm not able to help with this one, but I have put a post on our staff discussion boards to make sure someone who can sees your post.

My only other suggestion is try creating another account?
