Made me cry. Should have beat Slumdog Millionaire at the Oscars, no doubt. A great film. The beginning dragged, perhaps purposefully, but as the film went on it just got better and better. I loved even the cheesy and unrealistic parts, like the WWII scene of the fishing boat taking on a German sub. The acting was impeccable, simply top of the line. Blanchet, who is always phenomenal, had me utterly under her character's spell, and Pitt should have won an Oscar. If he wins won in the near future it'll be partly because of his performance in Benjamin Button. Best film of the year, hands down.
Hence, viper thoughts, that coil around my mind,
Reality's dark dream!
I turn from you, and listen to the wind. Coleridge
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the rational mind is a faithful servant; we have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." Einstein
