Shook hands today with a rapist

I called him a rapist to get a point across.

I called him a criminal because he is one.

Know what else I did today? Lavished around in a society built on the belief that our vanity should be funded by imperialist expansion into ‘brown people countries’ because ‘they are the fucking terrorists’

The people in government are just trying their best to provide us with wealth, and it’s hard to lead one-way slaughter invasions into third world countries. Those people deserve our respect and admiration.

This went right through my head.

What do you know about imperial expansion?

As a self declared imperialist I don’t really see what your talking about as what’s going on, ecoomic explotation isn’t synonymous with imperialism and neither is setting up more amiable goverments in foreign nations.

These things can and have been done by capitalist plutocrats and agreed upon by politicians that have other motivations for aggressive foreign policy.

Precisely why I posted my cod recipies.

Colin, we’re going to bomb the Towers, go to war, you’ll be compensated, obviously, maybe with some book deals about ‘Leadership’ or well, you know–whatever you want. If you’re in, great, if not—oh, what’s that? You’re in? Great. What do you need to say? It’s easy:

We just say he has weapons.
And they will believe us.

After? I don’t fucking care. Say whatever you want. Put it in your ‘leadership’ book. Laughs After… I mean these are Americans we’re talking about.

I prefer cod and rice.

An old trick of the mafia is to make sure corrupt people remain in power. They want people that will accept bribes, or bend to intimidation or something. The CIA became kindof like its own mafia and big business in some ways has become like the mafia too. That is part of why really corrupt guys get into positions of power in foreign countries. It’s a problem in capitalism because it becomes plutocracy, and drug lords can make allot of cash which then makes even more cash etc. And if it is a socialism then a dictator “revolutionary” violently seizes control of all the money and resources in the country. Each side, socialism and capitalism, is a polarized extreme which is subject to corruption, then both groups are played against one another as enemies and each one claims the other one is truly evil.

One thing that most people don’t realize is that not all humans are human.
When we are born we are typically innocent. Our original unconditioned nature is somewhat portrayed by our youth.
I remember when I was young. I did not wish death or control on anyone. I just wanted peace and friendship.
Allot of people start out like that, but humans have some issues with a weak immune system when it comes to issues of either physical or spiritual corruption.
This means that human existence is tragic.

“Having fun and not really examining things” is just a polarization of happiness mutated into escapism.
This form of polarized happiness is played against destructive things such as nihilism.
Each side is an extremism and as usual the two polarities battle it out as we’re forced into either one or the other or a non-thinking agnostic position.

We’ve got capitalism vs socialism
and atheism vs religion
and escapist happiness vs nihilist depression
and myth vs materialism.

I’m not sure why this duality keeps happening but it really sucks.
Both parties are F-ed.

Also Hussein was a good little dictator, but the only problem is that once he was put into power, he couldn’t be controlled. So they felt they had to take him out.

Normally a socialist dictatorship is great because all the power and wealth goes to one corruptible individual, which THEY then control quite easily, because it’s only one mind and one man in power. They would hate for the power to be in the minds of a very large group, because that would be much harder to control.

Meanwhile, the costs of a war sky rocket. So the guys who build and sell weapons are like “sweet i just won the lottery.”

Another war, yay, weapons, oil, and drugs, are the biggest business there is for cash. THEY want a few easily controllable people in charge of large amounts of drugs and weapons.

Also a one world government could possibly be a good thing. If it didn’t declare war on itself there’d be no war. We could combine all resources and share things and set up programs to end world hunger more easily and things like that.

I am beginning to think that the new world order is not an overt physical government.
The new world order is a single shadow government which tries to bribe and control all dictatorships and corporations in the world.
Like some sort of super mafia from hell.

Arguing both sides of an issue in the same paragraph.

Oh, I must be a pluralist. Vote for me! (I try to integrate as many threads as possible in each post)

Oh, right, you think it was the U.S. government that blew up the World Trade Towers and all the people inside. That aside, you’re narrating a scenario in which Colin Powell was bribed or otherwise corrupted into deliberately lying to the world about WMD intelligence. That could very well be true. Though I’m not sure I find it the most plausible explanation for Colin Powell’s actions at the time considering many of his other decisions and consistent positions…I thought he genuinely believed that the intelligence given to him was authentic when he addressed the UN. But maybe you’re right, he was corrupted into lying about intelligence he knew was bullshit and intelligence that would void his, up until that time, decisively diplomatic approach (a distinctly minority position in the Bush/Cheney administration) to issues with Afghanistan/Iraq. Could all very well be true.

I just find your remarks to Blurred oversure and overzealous. I would have found it an interesting occasion if I had shaken Colin Powell’s hand as well. I guess I too am the unthinking type who deludes himself with happy thoughts… No, I would have torn you to pieces for posting supercilious picto-meme crap as a response.

:text-goodpost:

I’m with Fuse, there’s nothing wrong with shaking hands with someone famous and wanting to tell your friends about it. Even though the nature of Philosophy is argument, I think one of the things seperating Message Boards from old-school chat rooms is that we’re supposed to more-or-less be friends on here. In the Internet sense, that is.

nothing like an imperialistic bloodbath to start your day off right. The best part of waking up is WTC 7 controlled demolition in your cup.

Gah, I just had an anarchygasm.

You have permission to pull the building.

Wait he wasn’t a rapist! Meh you liar!

I think Authority Figure was going for a more symbolic comparison.

I can’t decide whether to play along for chuckles or just say I figured he wasn’t a rapist. I thought the plan was to say that and see how many people had a really adverse reaction, then embarrass them with the TRUTH. Almost sophistomacated as far as trolling goes… Almost. I still have absolutely no idea who he is by the way.

One thing I do know though he is a potential rapist.
