Bonjour again ILP! I have been gone for a while.
I was meditating on this thought the other day.
My thought: Essentially the integers 2, 1, and 0, if they exist, must have sprang into existence at the same time when first discovered, thought of, etc etc… unless we live in an infinite universe…
Scenario 1: (my favourite) The universe is infinite and these numbers have always existed together and the way they came about is arbitrary.
Scenario 2: (more interesting) The universe is finite. It is impossible for 1 to exist on its own. We must be able to distinguish 1 from something. Whether that something is nothing (0), or another something (1), 2 must have been present! There is either 2 somethings or 1 something and one nothing leaving 2 categories.
It seems inescapable or is this my silly logic?
