I think that we have sufficient membership and active membership to warrant the creation of ILP Awards. Obviously, the winners of such awards would not get a physical prize of any kind, but I think if we put all of the categories to a month long open vote the recognition associated with being an ILP Award winner would be enough of a prize in itself.
The first thing that I am going to do is throw ten topics out for consideration and if anyone has any additional topics that he/she feels warrants consideration, then feel free to throw them out there.
As with everything I do, of course I have to come up with a few rules:
1.) Every individual user may nominate up to ten individuals (but no more that one individual for any given category) to be considered in the voting.
2.) A user may not nominate himself/herself.
3.) Each user that votes may only vote for one person per category, but may not vote for the person that he/she nominated.
4.) A user (if nominated) may not vote for him/her self.
Here are my ten categories:
Best Overall Poster
Best Debater
Best Religion Poster
Best Philosophy Poster
Best Social Sciences Poster
Best Writer
Best Natural Sciences Poster
Best Psychology Poster
Most Hated
Most Liked
Most Sexist. (heavy duty competition for that one)
Most in Need of a Life in the Real World. (Although I have to say that starting a thread like this puts you in serious contention for such an award, PM).
Most Medicated, since about half of the population seems to be in the running. (count self medication and we’re talking a candidate pool of least 95%).
