If you have not seen this movie yet, i would strongly advise that you make it a priority. If you have, you should see it again. There is a much, much more deeper and inspiring side to this movie, but i’ll lay out the basic plot they use to portray the message. "One man lives in the neighborhood, another man owns it. A devoted father battles the local crime boss for the life of his son. " that is the tagline. it takes place in 1960s Bronx, following the life of “C”, the italian-american son of his hard working, honost father who fights for the love of his son after “C” grows close to the local Mafia boss. The movie does a beautiful job of portraying the life of a criminal compared to the life of a working class hero, and shows the many ups and downs to both. more importantly, it reminds you of how precious life is and that the sadest thing in life is wasted talent. my father was a teacher at a very “low-standard” high school in southern chicago. He told me he would show this video to all of the seniors who made it to graduation and always felt that everyone should see it. check around on tv, its on every now and again, but also im sure theres some place online you can download it for free, cause it was made in 1993 and for some reason never made it big. (dont let this detour you, it is a GREAT movie). i love discussions of deep movies like this one, so once you’ve seen it please share your views on it. thanks.
