I am going to Be writing a book/paper (not sure how much research I want to do) on Irish Boxers in New Orleans and New York. In the course of this research (that I just started), I have discovered how much of the fullness of the American Experience we have lost due to lawsuits, the rejection of “fate”, and the feminization of our culture. And it isn’t even the feminization, really, it’s the gentrification, the lack of a real thing to struggle against. World War II destroyed this country, Hitler Won. The Machine we created after The War has eaten us turned us into consuming zombies, sucked damn near all of our individuality out of us, reduced us to fucking institutionalized “men”, trying to lecherously grab our strength from voyuerism. it’s A real pisser.

I’m training to drive a school bus in Florida in one of the Public Schools down here and the whole thing makes me really sad. I am 25 years old, nearly 26 and we weren’t the damnable tattletales that these 4,5,6 graders are. All of them try and throw each other under the wheels of the nearest authority, who is usually me. All the fucking women teachers always speak to the students with the goddamned “institutionalized” speech - a language stripped entirely of cause - all blame put in the passive voice. The speaker/teacher never threatens the students. “It” threatens the students. “It” carries out the consequences. Fights between students are handled in the worst way. When my dad (God rest his soul) was a teacher twenty five years ago and he found two boys fighting, he pulled them aside and kept them aside by him until the end of school. After school, he put 16 oz gloves on the hands of each of these kids and had them fight. The weight of the gloves tired out the boys within about a minute. By the end of the minute, these boys were so drained physically and emotionally, that whatever the hell they were fighting about was forgotten.

Fundamentally the increasing affluence of our nation is destroying us. My wife has long asked my why I regard rich people with such disdain. Their money insulates them from their mistakes and allows them to never deal with the hard issues of life, issues that make ourhands tough and our dantienmen growl. (sorry for the chinese word - we have nothing equivalent in English)

I got into a great argument with a dumbassed white bigot parent of one of the Boys in my kung fu class down here in Nowhere Florida, shithole of Yankee Imperialism, Neo-New Jersey, the Land that Must Be Like Levittown, The Swamp Without Trees, the Last Refuge of The Seminoles Who then Decided that it was Better to Open a Casino than to Resist, the False Italy of America, The Land Where Long Island Comes to Die and all the other names for this godforsaken hurricane magnet. Anyway this asshole starts telling me how he would never live in Brazil. Okay I say, Why? It’s Filthy, It’s not Filthy I say. It has some dirty Cities, but it has others that are beautiful. Then His parrot son says he hates Mexican Culture . Well this just pissed me right off (as I learned all my Spanish from Mexicans, the best man at my wedding is Mexican and all of the greatest conversations of my life have been with Mexicans). This father and son act then stands as ignorant redneck counterpoint to my Catholic Liberal Cosmopolitanism. We probably would Have escalated to killing each other, but for my sifu calming everybody down. What the dumb father-son act doesn’t understand is that the hispanics are going to save us from ourselves and our Gringo Lawsuitism

I would like to add a few more stupidities I’ve heard today.

Puyallup, WA:

PUYALLUP - “Let them have their 30 minutes of dressing goofy and having candy,” said Silas Macon on the grounds of Puyallup’s Maplewood Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

He’d just learned the grade school tradition of a party and parade in costume during the last half-hour of class before Halloween night won’t happen this year in the Puyallup School District for his two daughters.

The superintendent has cancelled all Halloween activities.

A letter sent home to parents Wednesday states there will be no observance of Halloween in the entire school district.

“We really want to make sure we’re using all of our time in the best interest of our students,” explained Puyallup School District spokesperson Karen Hansen.

Hansen says the superintendent made the decision for three primary reasons. First, Halloween parties and parades waste valuable classroom time. In addition some families can’t afford costumes.

It’s the third reason some Puyallup parents are struggling with.

The district says Halloween celebrations and children dressed in Halloween costumes might be offensive to real witches.

“Witches with pointy noses and things like that are not respective symbols of the Wiccan religion and so we want to be respectful of that,” said Hansen.

The Wiccan, or Pagan, religion is growing in the U.S. and there are Wiccan groups in Puyallup.

Number eight on the district’s guidelines related to holidays and celebrations reads as follows: “Use of derogatory stereotypes is prohibited, such as the traditional image of a witch, which is offensive to members of the Wiccan religion.”

Now I have nothing wrong with wicca or wiccans practicing. I have a problem with the neutering of public schools so they “don’t offend anyone”

I also completely agree with this, we (me and my wife) were being lazy in front of the tube a couple of nights ago and happened upon “wife swap” and they swapped a rich wife with the farmers wife.

The rich wife was completely self centered as were her kids, the farmers wife was much better able to deal with life and actually taught the rich daughters to better appreciate what they had, and to better appreciate being a family. They asked the rich husband if he was looking forward to seeing his wife and he said no, the farmer husband missed the wife dearly.

Those with money are “insulated” from the problems of the “real world” where the rest of us folks live and work and play. What’s ironic though is that we realize that they are chasing a fleeting happiness where they do not. They think that we think that because we don’t have money.
