I’m thinking that in the future there will come to be less and less jobs as a result of automation. As a result all i can see is a more socialistic socity working, i mean if there are no jobs money and such must be alotted to the people fairly. so as i see it isnt the current republican anti socialist drive actually rather counter productive?
Once you understand that the wealthy elite of the world want to inherit the planet by themselves where they dream about killing off the rest of the global population one begins to see your notions as delusional utopic socialism.
Moreover what is more likely is that as technology is mastered in advances it will be used to enslave people like never before in history.
Why not? Those that can harvest masterful technology acquire great power like technological gods to master others.
Few people are able to see technocracy for the fascism it really is.
Also, if you want to see the consequences of technology look no further than technological unemployment. Unemployment these days is very much structural and technological.
I don’t quite see how the assumption that because of increased automaton, the unemployed will get stuff for free. They didn’t earn it…
It was their choice after all to do this. INstead of seeking to make man more competitive against the robotic labor force, they smoked pot and protested in the next new craze, reading Lacan and Zizek. They never tried once to show why they are needed in the new system… so I doubt the new system is going to know how to accommodate them. The excessive drug use will aid them during the transition period… till they starve and die.
I however, taking after Cezar’s ideas, have endeavored to eat the machines, and become a cyborg aristocrat.
The more technological society becomes the more of the workforce becomes replaced entirely by machines or computers.
The machine owners do not care as they look at it as one less expense they have to pay and usually they tell the workers " hey, fuck you!" adapt with the times or else end up on the street.
Do they bother retraining these unemployed through program outlets responsibly instead of letting them languish around miserably? Fuck, no! Not their fucking problem!
That gets in the way of profit margins!
Fuck you, I got mine now you go get yours!
Look at the large populations of homeless. They are there because a machine or computer has what was once their job in the market place.
That is usually how it goes with the marvels of technocratic fascism.
In this apathetic era nobody gives a fuck either. It is I have mine, fuck you, and now you go get yours.
The new system does not give a fuck about accommodating them.
They just throw bread at them and tell them to adapt to their technological replacement or kick rocks on the roadside.
Corporations like technology which is why they monopolize it for their own enterprisal profit.
I think it is sad that people think technology is something that will be used for everybody’s benefit someday in the future. It is a entirely complete bullshit concept.
If anything the monopolization of technology by the few will always be used to oppress others.
Technologically progressive utopias are such bullshit.
Drugs exist to sedate the hopeless homeless and chronically unemployed workforce where it is the hope by the government peddlers of the drugs that quite a few will overdose dying in stop being a burden on the rest of society. More cost effective.
I wouldnt assume that they will get stuff for free but eventually won’t everything be automized? what then can we do to aid the people? it wont just be the hippies unemployed at the most all there will be are administrative positions and not that many of them.
I wouldn’t worry about it. A hundred years ago nothing was mass produces by machines. Now almost everything is and yet, give or take 0.5%, unemployment in 1900 was the same as it was in 1999.
When things become easier to produce, people just buy more stuff. Some people are still needed to watch over machines, repair and fix them, design them etc. Mass production also produces a demand for middle men -marketers, salespeople, market analysts, shopkeeping staff, quality control etc etc.
Basically history shows that the number of jobs is vaguely self regulating. As early as fifty years ago, people started worrying that automated production lines would cause mass unemployment. But it never happened, and probably never will.
Even if everything were automated, people would just put a higher value on things like art, designer clothes, handmade goods etc. People will still have money to spend and the automation would make everything cheaper, so they’d have more money left over and will want to buy more exclusive things.
If there’s one thing you can rely on it’s consumerism. It’s been around since the start of human history and it isn’t going anywhere soon.
So we should push for socialism now because at an unspecified point in the future, technological advances may or may not make it a sensible way to live?
No, there is a strong correlation between crime, victims of crime. Deteriatiion of health and death, military service deaths of unemployed young people and unemployment generally versus keeping the status quo. So no iot is productive
Socialism will fail because. Of non productivity. Capitalism will fail because of anarchy. What else is there? Communes. Communism will have to come back only without the oligarcs.
