How do you think - is ecology real science or latest conceptions of evolutional processes in ecological aspect are rather unrealistic and untrustworthy.
Are ecological schemas/models/patterns always true or is it too early to judge many things. And finally - are any ecological models at all or each environment is different and we only have illusions that something repeats and we observe any repetitions/models of tendencies within particular ecosystems.
PS. I hope to be understandable for reasonable readers.
answers according to the extent of my knowledge:
- is ecology real science
yes

no

no
to make myself clear… the fact that each ecosystem is different doesn’t withhold scientists from observing general patterns, mechanisms and tendencies that are valid in most or many earthly ecosystems
This is essential information for managing our ecosystems… Though uncertainty is very big, due to the enormous complexity of these systems and the limited information, we can predict a number of things with enough accuracy to base management on. I gave you a link once, that contained an explanation about some of the models that are used for this.
