It seems that nobody else heard that ‘sonic boom’ of a thunder clap -except the cat and I- right before the, now infamous, crystal-clear hailstone storm started.
…noise was like a ten tonne bomb going off, and nobody heard it…

…seems a few did hear it… everyone else -that being the whole of London- probably having too much wax in their collective ears, perhaps.

That storm, stretching all the way from Cornwall to London… no wonder it wanted to be heard, after travelling all that way. Now I understand the phenomena, known as storm-chasing.
