Afterlife - is this a religious or physiological matter?

Is the issue of an afterlife a religious or physiological matter?

The ‘afterlife’ is a transcendental illusion and a religious ‘bullshit’ that is conjured as a placebo to deal with and soothe a terrible existential crisis [dilemma].

In other words, just wishful thinking on their part.

Do you suppose they’re aware that it’s merely wishful thinking? Or do you think they’ve successfully brainwashed themselves into thinking there is actually the potential for some sort of awareness or consciousness after death?

The above process is based on pure ignorance of the real truth of the following cycle which is;

  1. There is an inherent subliminal trigger of the existential dilemma arising as subtle thoughts.

  2. These subtle messages trigger a very major subliminal physiological upheavals and horror in one psyche.

  3. A counter thought [belief], i.e. afterlife as bestowed by God is used to counter 1.

  4. This counter thought dissolves and overcome 1.

  5. When 1 is countered, the subliminal physiological upheavals vanished almost immediately [SAVED] and there is a great sense of peace.

  6. To ensure 5 is sustained, the belief of 3 must be sustained and defended to the extent of sacrificing one’s life or whatever it takes, e.g. Abraham selfishly sacrificing his only son.

  7. Unfortunately in some cases, the belief of 3 is adulterated with evil laden verses and strict compliance with them.

  8. The evil laden verses in combination with 3 & 4 catalyzed the evil prone believers to commit all sort of terrible evil around the world since religions emerged.

From the above, one will note the believer has to believe there is an afterlife [and God] otherwise it will trigger major psychological [subtle] pains. To ensure the pain is kept away, believers has to sustain a belief of God, the afterlife and other associated beliefs. Perhaps this is something like auto-spontaneous self brainwashing.
To ensure and secure this belief to keep away the psychological pains, some believers will go to the extent of killing non-believers if the [mis]perceived there is a threat to this security.

I believe if believers are mindful of the above natural cycle, they can hold back from clinging desperately to 6 and ignore 7, then there will be greater peace on Earth.

No… it’s delusional thought. But only when they come up with a certain story behind it… Like they think it’s absolutely certain that it will happen. That’s delusional thinking.

You cannot be certain, that’s why they rely on the promise of a “god” because they do not trust man kind. Well isn’t that a bit of a paradoxical loop hole. They don’t trust the creation, but they trust the creator who molded the creation the way they are? How does that even make any sense logically as to why they would trust the “god” in the first place.

No one is for certain of what death is, and no one can be until they face it themselves.

Not necessarily true. If there is no consciousness or awareness after death, then upon death, we wouldn’t be certain of anything, nor would we be uncertain of anything.

This is a bit like asking if friendship is a sociological or a chemical matter. IOW there are potential false dichotomies in there and the vagueness is almost troll-like. Note, I am not saying you mean to be a troll, it’s just that the floppiness of the question, it seems to me, will lead to a batch of tangential conversations and fights over not much at all.

A neurosurgeon of 25 years, works with Harvard Medical School; was before a sceptic of any afterlife or near-death experiences from his patients.
Dr. Eben Alexander had a serious illness, and went into a coma for 7 days.
HIs experience was so incredible and profound he wrote 2 books on it.

Proof of Heaven and Map of Heaven.

I agree with what he says, that science is still in its kindergarten stage and should be more open to spiritual experiences outside of dogmatic and bossy religions.

It seems that people would rather believe in anything else rather than the false God that crushes humanity presented by mistranslated scriptures saying that we face an eternal hell.
Eternal means age in a correct Bible interpretation and hell can mean unseen state, grave or prison.

Neurophysiologist John Eccles writes: I maintain that the human mystery is incredibly demeaned by scientific reductionism, with its claim in promissory materialism to account for all the spiritual world….

Again I’ll say, I appreciate your civilized manner of discussion. I was wanting to reply to some of your other postings. I’m abit challenged now with family issues.
If the picture downloads OK I would certainly say this is a 3 year olds painting compared to what Dr. Alexander saw in heaven.
