Beyond being a nifty internet search engine and information illustrator along with being used in mass surveillance or military weapon applications so far this artificial intelligence stuff is total bullshit. Looking forward to the A.I. Bubble popping everywhere.
My experience is that it is faulty but of a higher quality, relative to gaining constructive criticism and basic analysis’ of texts, than the above average intellect.
Is it perfect? No.
Is it better at analysis than the majority of people? Yes.
I will admit that I have had some very interesting philosophical discussions with A.I. that I haven’t been able to get with any other human being, but beyond that I don’t see total automation of entire societies happening anytime soon. A.I. generated artwork is pretty good too, if you can find ways past their censorship controls.
Whatever requires language will be taken over by AI. It is more proficient at language than the above average person.
