In both the 1911 Xinhai Revolution and the subsequent Communist Revolution, ethnic cleansing was not documented with the same terminology as in the Soviet context, but the Chinese Communist Party did engage in violent campaigns against certain ethnic and political groups, as well as implementing policies aimed at Sinicisation and controlling minority regions.
