no, but there is apparently a new kindle app for iphone.
My g/f got a free one from her work. Well, not free. It was a reward for a good month. But that is close enough to free for me. I prefer real books but it is substantially better than other book-substitutes I’ve experienced. Good for bus-riding and bus-stops.
But I think talkies are a flash-in-the pan, you know? They’ll never replace radio.
I quite fancy one actually, depending on how many books they have that are downloadable or wtf.ever - getting books in English over here, at least ones that require more than two sun- baked neurones to read, is a pain.
Are they just for reading or are they audio book players? They look interesting, but I do prefer books…and I find reading too much from a screen screws my eyes up, so I’m in no rush to get one. It’ll be interesting to see how this tech develops over the next few years, will it do to books what mp3’s have done to cd’s? I hope not.
amazon kindle sounds like a precursor to fahrenheit 451…

I’m really tempted to pick one of these up essentially because printing journal articles is a bitch and I keep losing pages.
Unfortunately since afaik kindle charges to allow me to put pdfs on it, it’d have to be merely kindle-esque and not really sure what’ on the market atm, will have to investigate when I have some spare cash.
Many people got one / have any important feedback on what they’re like?
