I really like the effect of this one.
yes, it evokes the beauty of the place as well as its feel, its smells and sounds; you’ve made me want to go back there - congratulations!
thanks for posting.
That is good to hear, thanks.
I am right now making a portfolio composed of new work - I’ll include this one as well. It was taken in the winter of 98, mid January. The light around that time is the clearest, the sky the widest, the air the purest.
Great picture!
I was in Amsterdam during January a few years back, we stayed in a small hotel, across from the Zoo and right beside the University - it snowed on and off the three days we stayed there and it was a magic atmosphere - unhurried - beautiful!
Nice, de Plantagebuurt. That is really a wonderful part of the city when it snows… which it not often does, unfortunately.
When I was in Paris last winter it snowed - I sat drinking tea in a cafe looking across the river onto the back of the Notre Dame as the streets and the bridge grew white. It was so enchanting I was relieved I had allready shot all my film so I couldn’t try to make something lasting out of something which was too beautiful to endure.
