Anyone living in Chicago should visit Ravinia near Northwestern University. It is a magical outside theatre for classical music and jazz all summer under the stars and twinkle lights nestled in the trees. Take wine, a picnic on the train from Chicago to Evanston. They have visiting artists like Tony Bennett and Aretha as well. Great stuff.
Please look into eBay because you will find what you are looking for - I recommend a used instrument, but check out the seller’s reputation on the site first. Contact me if you have never shopped there and I will give you tips.
I play the guitar horribly, well I used to be good but I lost my acoustic guitar, and I need new strings badly on my electric cause I think I’ll get tetnis if I try to play on it.
I also play the paino fairly well, but actually I don’t remember how to read sheet music. I just listen to paino songs I like and figure them out, I also know a few songs back from when I used to read sheet music.
Guitar is more rewarding in the long run I think, I mean you’ll get more ass playing the guitar then the piano, that much is obvious. But if you like to sing and play at the same time the guitar has much more possibility for that.
Damn liberal commies…and their theater…and their instruments. I bleed red white and blue baby nothing else!!!
What!? Are you gonna sing a song about making love to trees and whatnot.
With your armenian lute and your armenian hand drum, why don’t you just move to Armenia with the rest of ya’ll hippies!!
You are very talented indeed, I am jealous of this wide range of ability. I like to sing to, but only in private. In public I don’t sing well on purpose. I’d be embarrased to sing well in front of an audience.
the hair on the back of my neck stood on end just reading that
Learning theory on a piano is more practical then learning it on a guitar, as it translates to ANY instrument. Singing and playing on a piano is easier then on guitar if you ask me, piano is a much less stressfull instrument to play, physically; guitar is a lot of hard stretching and squeezing.
