Suffering cannot be abolished. The point is not to despair or to regard and accept suffering as the unavoidable fate. There’s something we can do curb suffering and that is to learn to act logically correct in order to be able to minimize suffering.
Often suffering consists of minute inconveniences, such as a cold toilet seat on a wintry day or a defective door handle. Once I move into a furnished room and the first time I walked past the fridge my foot hit a pointed, sharp object underneath the fridge, hurting myself. Immediately I stuffed a rag into this area and you bet, I ran my foot many more times into this spot, but never gain hurt myself again. >>> End of problem!
Initially, when we are young (and/or philosophically immature) we stand in front of 1000’s of problems. Gradually, with progressing philosophical maturity we (or some of us) master to overcome one problem after another. Some stubborn problems require considerable wisdom to be resolved satisfactorily. Vocational problems are one of them. Partner relationship problems are yet another one. Some problems require economic resolutions others philosophical considerations and wisdom. Only after we succeeded do resolve most of our problems adequately, we are rewarded with contentment and quality of life. It’s worth our while! jjj
