I really love his art, although I only discovered him a few months ago. There’s just something whimsical and poignant about his bright, goofy pictures that really gets me. I’m no art expert, but to me the best art cuts to the heart of the message or feeling it tries to convey with a minimum of technique and “artifice”, for lack of a better word. I guess it’s my “Occam’s Razor of Art.” His stuff does that. And it’s really cool that he basically doesn’t care what you do with his art, so long as you don’t sell it.
His web site, explodingdog.com, says he has a new book coming out. I might have to see if I can find it when it’s released.
I sure think it’s cool.
