I’m going into the field of linguistics. Are they any around ILP?
I’m not, but if any linguists do find this thread, I hope they’ll be able to tell me the difference between these pairs of vowels, which have different symbols in the phonetic alphabet:
Put, cup
Raw, poor
Right now I’m consitering it as a minor with an english major, I’ll make that decision when get out of high school.
What do you mean the field of linguistics? I thought you were a magician… so that would mean NLP and suggestion stuff or are we talking actual linguistics?
Yes, I am a Magician, but since they don’t have any college program for the art of conjuring and misdirection… then I decided to follow my passion to learn languages and teach languages.
I want to get a degree as a personal goal. And getting a PhD in Applied Linguistics seems cool to me. At least for right now, but I’m still young.
conjuring perhaps not, but misdirection (as well as scenery and stage construction) is taught in most theater arts departments…
it is a question of application… you may want to try one as an elective…

I feel that I’m very knowledgeable on those subjects. But for what ever reason my warped mind came up with, I have decided to double Major in Linguistics and International Business and minor in Japanese.
My magic career is seperate, but I’m pretty sure I can use whatever I learn in college somehow into my magic.
As for NLP, I think it’s a bunch of B.S.
I’m going into Linguistics1!!!
It’s good to know that I have someone to bounce my crazy ideas with! =D>
Having been a certified NLP practitioner since the age of 18, I can heartily agree. However, it does help alot of people. Even the neurobiologists can’t explain it properly.
I see you gave up on the linguistics idea and went for phil and economics… or are they just preliminary modules? I dont know how things work over there.
