…Force-feeding Chair at GITMO
My thesis for this thread: This chair, this forced-feeding chair, represents something you are not. This chair represents the power of a true philosopher. Something you are not. You are lost in words. Lost in self-absorption and self importance of your oh so important opinions. Look at that chair and understand a actual real philosopher sits in that chair. Something you will never have the balls or the brains to do.
As a pseudo philosopher, you appear to be conveying that philosophers don’t think, they do (as much as possible).
To your credit, it’s quite a comical comparison to offer the solution to “armchair philosophy” as “force-feeding chair philosophy”.
As a philosopher, I recognise that thinking is doing. And that doing too much can hinder thinking (as well as vice versa). Back to pseudo philosophy though, I am saying that not everything is black and white (which ironically seems to be something of a black and white saying).
It conveys to me that you have some kind of problem with understanding philosophy, and therefore you use the cliche prefix “pseudo” to try and instigate a debate about some spurious opinion you hold.
The image conveys to me a chair where people are forced to eat. Some philosophers might say that doing something instead of thinking about doing something endlessly has value. So they make that fucker eat. he doesn’t want to, but because they can make him they do. A real philosopher knows what he can make people do.
Thought and philosophy are common terms to confuse. If we could live on the level of pure presentation, (being force fed from so called authorities–who had our best inter in mind) than it would be ok. But that not being the case we first have to adhere to one of the very fist principles of philosophy : Cogito ergo sum. Most people are thoughtless and cause irreparable harm.
Once this lesson is learned, we can see how hard it is to deal with it, and learn to get out of our own sense of inadequacy and try to re-present to others.
You’ve all been duped. This is an electric chair. Isn’t that a clock on the wall. When’s the execution scheduled for. Who’s to be executed? Another philosopher. But which one?
A throne that, regardless of the validity of the individual philosophy, right or wrong, there sets a REAL philosopher…One that is willing to sacrifice their lives for their philosophy in which they believe in.
Edit: Misspelled throne in the last usage FTFM
.
Sorry witrack, I got my message inside of yours. But to repeat: you don’t need to be a real philosopher to think like one, as you don’t need to be a real hero to become one.
Actually, no disrespect intended, but I don’t know what Rule # 7 means because I don’t know what Rule # 1-6 mean.
I know I agreed to ALL of them but I don’t really care what they say. I am me.
As I have stated before, philosophy is the most important thing in my life now.
I have dedicated my life to the discipline of philosophy and I have not been disappointed.
To be honest with you, again, I only wish to be truthful, but I have not seen anything or any one here upon this forum that even remotely resembles a true philosopher.
So, I guess what I am saying, continue to enforce the rules and I think you will continue to have a well run, boring site.
Good luck with that.
I, like the men that sit in the seat found in the beginning of this thread, will do what I believe to be correct for me according to my philosophical moral compass.
Sorry if I introduced a philosophical concept here.
You won’t change me. You won’t stop me.
This forum will be less without me.

As a Pseudo Philosopher,…What Does THIS Convey to You?
Just out of curiosity, what in your opinion does a philosopher actually do? When someone claims to be a philosopher it sounds rather arrogant, braggarty and so what does a self styled philosopher give to society? Does it put bread on your family’s table?
A philosopher…a true philosopher is not directly an asset to himself or society.
To be a real philosopher is to prepare ones-self for death; to realize one’s own demise.
Ordinary people seem not to realize that those who really apply themselves in the right way to philosophy are directly and of their own accord preparing themselves for dying and death.
You must put food on your family's table. You must do everything required of you from society & family.
You do that, you develop an eye for philosophy, then you do both at the same time...
GREAT questions. Thank you for having the curiosity and the will to formulate.
