…save the image as a j-peg by right-clicking on it and then saving it to your desktop (you might already now how to do that bit though, so 
).
You can then either try and resize/upload as an avatar from there, or send it to imageshack, convert to avatar size, and then upload it from there - the User Control Panel will allow you to add/edit your profile info, but again, you might already know that too…
…or just use one of these images, that is already at the right size to upload straight from there…
That’s the long way round.
just put:

(without the prefix/suffix ___)
into the “link off-site” box. Then set the “dimesions” below to 130x100.
Submit.
Et voila.

How do I put my photo on the avatar space? I know I go into edit my info. Then change the avatar. There are two. One says edit my avatar and the other says edit photo image. Right now, I have the same avatar on both. If I do change one to a photo, will I lose the avatar I am now using? Please tell me step by step. Thanks for your help.
