# Awake vs Hear No Evil See, No Evil

Woke has been in the news a lot for the last decade or so. Awake is a major concept in the Bible. What exactly is it, and how does it work? (Ezekiel 12:2)(Proverbs 20:12)(Matthew 13:15-17)
Scenario:
> Man is about 25-30 years old. He meets pretty woman. They converse some, and our man is interested. They start dating.

> Immediately after meeting pretty woman, our man, he may have created an image in his head of whom he would like pretty woman to be. He would like her to be “less used.” Mostly a virgin. He would like to see the best things in her. When pretty woman talks to him, and tries to hint that she was not these things, or suggest something that doesn’t line up with the false image our man created in his head for her, it is all in one ear and out the other, or it just doesn’t compute. Our man is blind and deaf.
Have you ever heard that masturbation will make you go blind? It is a spiritual blindness. God is love. (1 John 4:8) Girls are pretty and they are nice to look at. How does a man look at them. Marriage is a major life event, and people spend a lot of time thinking about marriage, or things associated with marriage, like sex. How does a man think about it? It is not wrong to be curious. Given someone was lusting, looking to use people physically outside of marriage, only thinking about carnal things, he is separate from God. (1 Corinthians 10:5)
There are a lot of allegories between Faith and Marriage. The Songs of Songs is in the Bible as an Allegory for God’s love for Israel…or the Church. Christ is to man as man is to his wife in authority. (1 Corinthians 11:3) What our Blind and Deaf man in the scenario was doing with the pretty woman, men do that with God all the time. They created a false image of whom they would like God to be, and they project that. When things don’t quite line up with their false image, doesn’t compute, or in one ear and out the other.
> 16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”17 “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. (John 4:16-19)
The Samaritan woman, she must have been quite beautiful. She had five husbands. A lesser man, he may have ended up husband number six. Jesus talking with the Samaritan woman, he had no false perceptions. He saw her for what she was. Talking to her, he may have perceived some things intuitively through his Spirit, and he stated what he received with no doubt and no fear.
Awake is a particular thing in the Bible. Woke would be where someone stole something from Christianity, twisted, and presented back to the public in a corrupt way. Satan was a liar and a thief.

How does someone deal with lust or overcome it?
Men compete. Men compete in sports. Men compete at school or work. Men compete in love. How is the competition?
Trying to court a virgin towards marriage like a Jane Austin novel, that is a lot different than trying to date like Taylor Swift. The competition there is very different. Courting a virgin towards marriage, there may have been rules. In 2026, there really are no rules. A lot of men, they may have ended up with their ego and pride caught up in a wicked competition. Was a man competing with Leonardo DiCaprio or the author of “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell?” A man could lose his mind. He may have “Needed to know he could,” or “Needed to get his.” A lot of lust may have been tied to the ego and pride.
A man lets go.
I don’t care. Say “I don’t care.”
I don’t care. A man drops the ego, drops the competition, and he seeks The Lord Jesus Christ. He works to become a better man in Christ. He is in competition with himself.
This competition…a man may have been married for five years or a decade or more, and the competition was still there. He settled when he married. He didn’t think about it, but he was finding one old female friend away from cheating via Facebook or something. It is good to sit back and reflect some.

Who exactly is God of the Bible? Many men have had false perceptions. Who is God?
- God is love. (1 John 4:8)
- The Lord is a Man of War. (Exodus 15:3)(Isaiah 42:13)(Matthew 10:34-37)
- Jesus chastises and rebukes those he loves. (Hebrews 12:6)(Revelations 3:19)
I was a lifelong Christian. A lot of Christians will tell you God is love. They didn’t understand “Jesus chastises and rebukes those he loves.” Given they didn’t understand that, they may have had some false perceptions and were off. The Lord is man of war. Given you went to a public school or college, you may have been taught to please your teachers. That is natural. Someone looking to please their teachers at a Liberal Institution, they may have come away with liberal sensibilities. “The Lord is a Man of War,” someone may have recoiled from, or shied away from. If you are reading this and recoiling…that feeling is “Some Spirit Not-God.” What someone should do is fight through that feeling, and work to reconcile their understanding of God.
In Liberal Theology, people were taught to selectively read. Selectively reading leads to being blind and deaf. We don’t selectively read here. Someone should be humble and seeking understanding.
