I didn’t really like this test. A majority of the questions didn’t provide the answer I would have chosen.

Well, after reading what Future Man said, I decided to fake it and pretend I was a Muslim, and lo and behold:

  1. Islam (100%)
  2. Orthodox Judaism (100%)
  3. Sikhism (87%)
  4. Reform Judaism (85%)
  5. Bahá'í Faith (82%)

  17. Mahayana Buddhism (46%)
  18. Hinduism (46%)
  19. Neo-Pagan (39%)
  20. Theravada Buddhism (38%)
  21. Scientology (36%)
  22. New Age (32%)
  23. New Thought (31%)
  24. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (28%)
  25. Nontheist (21%)
  26. Secular Humanism (21%)
  27. Taoism (20%)

Very interesting that the test doesn’t distinguish between Islam and Orthodox Judaism, isn’t it?

But anyway, remember that a lot of the things we criticize Islam about are relatively peripheral to its nature. The core of Islam is: There is no God but God, and Mohammed is His prophet. God is spirit not flesh, there can be no incarnations, there are no multiple persons in one God, just God all by Himself, you don’t need priests or intercession by religious authorities, it’s all between you and God.

Then tack on the sexism, don’t go for any of that pacifism or mystical crap, and the AI will think you’re a Muslim for sure.

Tricky, since I am pro-ritual, but atheist . . . Some of the questions didn’t really leave me much choice. Plus the generic ‘secularist’ answer had a lot of grey to it.
Looks like all those arguments with my girlfriend have had an effect on my thoughts after all. Mahayana is 8, but Theravada (The Catholicism of Buddhism) is #2, and pseudo-Buddhism for Whitey is #1.

I’ve taken this test before and decided that the top five are probably the only ones that have any significant validity. Of course, this assumes that one is attached to labels (or have labels attached?)
