Best poker hand.

O.K if there are any poker fans i urge you to share your stories about your best ever hands.

I will kick it off with my best ever hand (exaggerated none) which took place less than 3 hours ago.

(dubbed the hand of god)

Texas holdem. an 8 man table but it was down to 3 handed (there were 3 players in the current hand)

My hand was KH QH (king of hearts and queen of hearts)

The flop was AH, AS, 10H.

The turn was the jack of hearts

The river was the ace of diamonds

community cards

[AH, AS, 10H, JH, AD]

I hit a royal flush on the turn and trapped checked it.

Someone raised 2000 chips (a decent raise) and then the other guy raised it to 4000.

Everyone looked at me and after a long delay i went all-in (i was chip leader with roughly 12 000 chips)

They instantly laughed at me (both of them) and told me i was done. They even said they had the nuts.(the nuts is an unbeatable hand)

I had a hard time keeping my poker face… There was an incredible urge to burst out laughing. I gulped water profusely…

They both called my all-in and the first guy flipped.

He had jack 5, giving him a full house (aces full of jacks) which was as he said, and i quote “the nut boat”.

I shook my head at him.

The next guy flipped.

He had Ace 8, giving him four of a kind aces. And the table went berserk. Aces beating a full house. (credit to the guy with the ace, i didnt think anyone had it)

By this time i was basically rocking in my chair like a crack head… I had already shown my hand to the guy next to me (who turned pale) and he flipped over my cards for me saying “its over… dont even bother”.

This was a house filled with poker fenatics.

I was too happy to really think but basically everyone went crazy. The next thing i remember clearly is everyone staring at me while i struggled with counting out the massive and unmanageable pile of chips…

At the beginning of the nite i sat down with 20 dollars with the big blind at 50 cents.

In 5 hours left with 200$. (the first 3 hours was spent floating just above even)

I don’t know if i could imagine a more actioney hand… People will talk about that one for awhile…

Anyway, any poker sharks gots some stories to tell?

Sounds like you had an encounter with possibility. Enjoy it while it lasts! :sunglasses:

don’t you know the rules of odds?

If i roll a 6 on a dice one hundred times in a row, what are the odds that i’ll do it for a 101th time?

I know more “rules” than you could imagine within 1,000 lifetimes.

knowing things is easy, it’s knowing what to know that’s the reall beef and potatoes.

1 in 6

-Imp

1 or 0. Either it’ll happen, or it won’t.

1 and infinity,

Either it will happen or something else will…

actally it’s 1 out of 6…

thank you lol

Actually, you’re wrong.

i have the dice in my hand. if i drop the dice there is one out of 6 sides that it could land on.

The odds of me being born on a tuesday are 1 out of 7, the odds that i am male are 1 out of 2.

And if i roll a dice, each side has an equal 1 sixth chance of beibg face up.

There’s really no ambiguity.

Whatever you say… You’re the boss, boss.

There has to be something said about the possibility or the odds of human kind abolishing the idea of marketplace days such as Tuesday. Would the odds then change? Or are they already infinite?

What are the odds of someone scribbling an extra dot on the dice with a black magic marker. Maybe not likely, but can it happen?

The odds of you being male are one out of two, unless you are born in the future when you could be bionic, half robot.

Yes?

In controlled circumstances like playing poker or rolling dice, there is always an outcome, and there are a finite number of them.

I odon’t like being the boss… too much expectation.

To be fair your statement might be tur but in the context suggested (dealing in controlled idealistic outcomes) there are indeed a finite amount of possibilities.

Is “more than likely” a controlled circumstance that states that nothing unlikely can happen?

I understand that reason is behind your perception, but if you have ever read Metamorphosis by Kafka, you can understand the idea of irrational, or the “not probable”

Who is to say you wont wake up tomorrow as a bug or a rock?

Just stating difference of probablity and possibilites. I dont know about anything controlled in terms of circumstances?

Reason might dictate human affairs of perception, but i’m unsure that the universe cares of human affairs.

I bet i could be more imaginative in my doubts and theories than kafka…

But the fact is, an inprobable result such as landing and staying on the corner, cheating, destruction of the dice, would result in a simple “re-do”.

That is to say, un predictable results (not within the realm of possible foresight) and unintentional occurances would be refuted.

oh ya, and it is assumed that the dice is a fair one.

I bet you could be more imaginitive, too.

Okay, this has come down to reason and probabilities vs possibility.

You have the advatage in this argument because we as humans base our decisions, free will or not, on what we percieve to be calculations. Our comfort and our familarity depend on it. We always revert to it.

But do you mean to tell me that the concept of possibilites doesn’t exist?

This re-do you’re talking about, I can picture that, but it is based on the agreement and the perception of something considered official. It relies on the senses, and senses fail.

I guess it might be like telling people it is safer to fly than to drive a car. Tell that to the person who dies in flight. The perception of saftey allows for us to take the risk. I’m either saying things are infinite or there is no such thing as odds, take it how you like.

Its like luck. Winning is considered lucky. But what if that win leads to an even greater loss later. Would you still call the initial win lucky?

You are pretty advanced in thought on this subject. However as you have stated, i have the advantage.

Basically, i agree that even in controlled circumstances there is no such thing as absolutely controllable odds.

I mean, if there were a 60% odd would win every time.

So ill take it as there’s no such thing as perfect odds, but from our perspective, even if we cannot pinpoint the odds, we know they exist.
