Nice.
Thank you, ChimneySweep. I’ve admired your poetry, among others. You and the other “regular” posters of poetry have really made me feel comfortable proffering my meager offerings to The Muse. I’m gaining a new appreciation for ILP.
…great use of scientific terms relaevent to the metaphor of your poem: binary stars; gravity; photons; satellites; decaying…orbits; strong [nuclear] force; and for the finale, strange attraction. Again, you are a master of poetic images.
–how many parsecs to your home world, friend? I might disengage hyper-drive on my mothership to stop in for a brief visit before the cryo-tanks fire up the suspended animation cocoons on my way to Andromeda - sure gets lonely on these intergallactic voyages.
