A bad carpenter knows he/she is bad at what they do. Its not to make them feel better, its to make others/clients trust them. Its not blame in that incident, it is excuse.
A driver borrowing another’s car thinking it is a safe car to drive can blame the car or owner if an accident occurs due to the car malfunctioning. Its an excuse as well but, it does make all but, the owner feel better.
Blame infers guilt and defers the focus for correction, thus “blame-shifting”. But quite often impetuous blaming of the inanimate or most simple-mindedly correlated object or person is a release of repressed frustration and not necessarily taken seriously by the blamer.
In causal terms blame doesn’t mean anything, but in subjective terms the person being led by causal effects is the only one who can really do anything about it. ergo behaviour needs to be addressed.
So instead of ‘person A’ = x,y,z [killer, rapist etc] ~ the function of transient acts and behaviours; person ‘A’ is suffering from x,y,z, i.e. No one is guilty.
