Blocking user

I am trying to block a user so I do not see their posts anymore and I do not get notified if the @ or reply to me. But all I am getting when I click on their username is “This user’s public profile is hidden” and a list of how many posts they have made in the current topic, which I can click on to filter by that.

So how do I block a user here? In the past I was able to click on their username and go to the appropriate setting in that, but that seems to be gone now.

For complete blocking, I think you need to add them to both ‘Ignored’ and ‘Muted’.

Ignoring them should hide their posts in topics.
Muting them should prevent them from contacting you directly (including being notified of their posts in topics you’re watching).

I don’t have much experience with these features, so if you find they’re inadequate in any way please let me know.

EDIT to add → These features are available here: https://www.ilovephilosophy.com/my/preferences/users

.
How does One going about hiding One’s profile?

Is it a moderator-only function?

C’mon, people… Preferences > Profile > tick top checkbox
