BP 10-Finis

A blanket statement has no need of proof
For it is warm and snugly covers truth.

I love my country whether right or wrong
Are lyrics for a nifty Natzi song.

A politician’s glib and facile speech
Helps to keep our freedoms out of reach.

The means that serve to justify an end
Must ramify. Say, what did you intend?

I’m sorry if I do not look as nice
As one who ought to profit from advice.

does this have to do with anything in particular or just the necessary divide between ideology and real life.

Thanks, Gamer. These three sets of random thoughts are from my “de profundis” 1960s writings. I wanted to see if they still hold up in 2013.

Yes, not bad, do you have more early work available?

Yes, volumes of it. I type badly, so it would be a task to get some of the larger poems posted. I may try when the handicaps of arthritis and depression permit.

Bad typing, depression and arthritis; myself, I have two out of three and yet I still can’t find the time to type my old work. But, then my old work is mostly just pages of work that could best be described as the rough forerunners of the types of poetry and philosophy I post here on ilp. Maybe not worth even saving.

But, I’d like to know how your poetry has progressed through the years. Maybe you could consider scanning some of the pages someday. If so, you could post the scanned images in this sub-forum or let me know and I’ll send you my email.
