Matthew 5 (New International Version)
Murder
21"You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder,[a] and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ 22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[b]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,[c]’ is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
23"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
25"Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.
Do a keyword search for peace in the bible. Jesus said peace be with you so many times. He said blessed are the peacekeepers for they belong to heaven, and then one time he said that He did not come to bring peace. Surely this means the infaliable words of Christ are a path to peace.
Anger is like an iceberg. You only see the tip of the iceberg. But it really means that all the pain, shame, frustration, anxiety, guilt, and lack of control in life; which causes anger is hidden below the surface.
When a dog is growling, it’s a warning before he bites. That is the way God designed nature. But as Children of God we are required to always dig deeper,… and always grow like children do.
I failed to understand how I was causing this in others. I may have learned to take criticism, but maybe I don’t know how to give criticism. I listen to complaints and see the validity in them. But I caused some problems in addressing these.
In church I learned how doing whatever it takes to keep the peace is important. Then they relayed the causes of anger. I do see my own anger now. I showed contempt for the contempt of others. But I was trying to show what contempt is. Nonetheless, I will only feed my soul instead of burden it. I feel more whole already dropping the weights of others.
You cannot erase sin with forgiveness. No, forgiveness helps you move beyond sin. But it does not accept sin. But I understand the issues I tackled stifled peoples imagination which they value higher then what I have to say. They imagined their views in science put them above the faults of others. They saw themselves as better then others instead of humans just like the rest of us. I can’t condone this, I can only understand it.
I love people spite their sin. It is confusing when we define our self-esteem based on sin or lies. I can only hope they can see past it; but I cannot insight their anger.
