Can anyone explain to me what Zaoism is?

I can’t seem to find much on it.

MY first thought was that it was related to Planet of the Apes. If not, I’m afraid I’m at a loss.

Mind telling us what you already know about it?

Is it possibly a strange romanization of ‘Daoism/Taoism’?

Zaoism is a new religion established in 2014 whose core belief is ‘All Religions are One Religion’.

It’s holy book is known as ‘The Book of Books’ where it takes quotes from all the different religious books of the world i.e. The Qur’an, The Bible, Bhagavad Gita, Avesta: Yasna, Tatvarth Sutra, Dhammapada, Mishnah Pirkei Avot, etc. and puts them all into one category–showing how all religions are teaching the same truths, just in different forms; for example:

The Book of Books (Chapter 1:1-15)

  1. God is Within You:

  2. Hinduism – “There is one Supreme Ruler, the inmost Self of all beings, who makes His one form manifold. Eternal happiness belongs to the wise, who perceive Him within themselves.” (Katha Upanishad, II.ii.12)

  3. Sikhism – “Ever is He present with you––think not He is far: by the Master’s teaching recognize Him within yourself.” (Adi Granth, Majh Ashtpadi, M.3, p. 116)

  4. Native American – “The first peace, which is most important, is that which comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its Powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.” (Black Elk, Lakota)

  5. Zoroastrianism – “One need not scale the heights of the heavens nor travel along the highways of the world to find Ahura Mazda. With purity of mind and holiness of heart one can find Him in one’s own heart.” (Zoroaster)

  6. Catholicism – “Jesus said, ‘If those who lead you say, ‘See, the Kingdom is in the heavens,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, ‘it is under the earth,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the Kingdom is inside of you.’” (The Gospel of Thomas 3)

  7. Jainism – “Long not for anything which will give a greater conceit of self, but for a truer realization of that selfless Self which is the center and origin of every being.” (Mahavira)

  8. Buddha – “It is within this self, with its mind and its notions, that I declare there is the world, the origin of the world, the cessation of the world and the path leading to the cessation of the world.”

  9. Zaoism – “Zao is the essential nature of all created beings: it is the Eternal and Original Self, always present within all beings.” (The Book of Books, Chapter 1:8)

  10. Bahá’í Faith – “The Purpose of the one true God, exalted be His glory, in revealing Himself unto men is to lay bare those gems that lie hidden within the mine of their true and inmost selves.” (Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh 132)

  11. Islam – “He who knows his own self, knows God.” (Prophet Muhammad)

  12. Judaism – “Just as G-d sees, but is not seen, so the soul sees, but is not itself seen. Just as G-d dwells in the innermost precincts, so also the soul dwells in the innermost part of the body.” (Berakot 10a)

  13. Shinto – “The deity is immanent in man and man is inherent in the deity.” (Shinto Tradition)

  14. Taoism – “The Tao is called the Great Mother: empty yet inexhaustible, it gives birth to infinite worlds. It is always present within you.” (Tao Te Ching 6)

  15. Confucianism – “What the superior man seeks is within himself.” (Analects 15.20)

  16. Christianity – “Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, ‘The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
