I started here as “Belinda”, a right-wing religious fanatic, of a certain rationalist bent, flavored with Kantian ethics, existentialist/phenomenologist epistemology and an Hegelian view of history.
I mean History.
But I wasn’t getting laid, so I switched to Perspectivism.
I’m still not getting laid, but I’m having more fun, anyway.
Of the posters who’s work interests me, yes, it is very easy to see who is who; both by content and style.
Knowing a poster who has changed user names about 30 times, I think there were several reasons for this: change in thinking, not being happy with the user-name, post count getting close to 100, wanting to experiment with a character, wanting to experiment with a style, reasons of privacy, and ‘other’ reasons.
Most people generally have quite distinctive patterns of ‘speech’ when writing on forums and people I know in the real world generally say that I talk in a very similar way online as I do in real life.
Plus, I’d guess that most people here tend to do a lot of writing, so should they choose to write instead of speak then they’re probably going to have developed a particular style.
However, like speech our accents can be changed.
So, having not been around for long enough to claim any ability to do so, I assume you could spot someone if they weren’t attempting to hide themselves
