capitalism: not the best way to fulfill one's potential?

is capitalism the best way for a society to progress?
I would say more than 50% of the american population does not love/care about their “job,” but can not persue what the love/care about because that more than 50% of the pop. needs the pay check to keep living, and I believe it safe to say that if one does not care/love what they are doing then the result will lack quality, thus not aiding in the progression of society. if I’m misinformed or this has already been discussed please let me know.thanks!

Capitalism.
The “free” market - nice idea.

Working for profit - bad idea (elusive systematical oppression eventually leading to the slavery of everyone other than few elite profiteers)

Communism.
Society working for the benefit of society - nice idea.

Capitalists have often run naive socialist society’s in order to profit of of them hence the near instant realisation of the slave position of the general populace.

Take the 2 good ideas backed up by a gov thats not corrupt (rationalist totalitarian libertarian) and your about right.

11% like their jobs.

I’m sure great leaps can happen when someone loves their job.

Marx would say capitalism is a necessary step.
