The fact that there are different countries that have different Socio-Economic and Political ideologies in practice is proof that people can change. There is also the fact that there are some countries (such as Russia) that operated under one ideology and now operate under a different one.
As far as the world changing is concerned, don’t forget that each one of us live in a different world, just ones with similarities to the worlds of others.
What is essential to people cannot change…WE cannot change our nature, but we do not percieve our nature as our problem; but we do think external nature is our problem… So when change is required we change our forms… All human progress requires a change of forms, and every form has its paradigm…When human beings moved from cave to dungeon the change represented a certain understanding of a form which allowed for an expansion of the idea to form a new reality… We change or forms of dwelling, our forms of economy, our forms of religion, because that is all we can change about ourselves…
Again I’m talking about behavior patterns and human nature that derives from those behavior patterns.
Are you trying to say that our behavior patterns are changing? In what way?
Noone of course can deny the technological changes that we have but I would argue the behavior patterns of our specie have remained consistently the same since our specie began existing.
For me the differences are redundant considering how such socio-economical and political ideologies are similarly implemented from government to government.
Take a look at films, documentaries I mean, from the 50s and 60s and you will see that people move through the world and interact very differently nowadays. They are freer with their bodies, more expressive with their faces. We now talk about, openly, just about anything - sex, addiction, whatever. (I am generalizing about ‘the West’.) Children are much more aware of adult things at earlier ages. Girls hit their first period earlier. Diversity is more of a norm and you can see this in films, social relationships, the news - of course there are many problems around this. Gay characters are now positive roles on TV programs. More people change their sex. Women are better represented in a variety of fields than they were. We now relate via the internet internationally. The cellphone has changed the way we socialize and spend time. In fact we are vastly more stimulated than we were - not that I think this is good - all the time.
by bringing those that just think of daily survival only , to the luxury of not thinking about basic survival , daily , and therefore are able to at least begin to enjoy life
further by being understanding , encouraging , and spread the wealth
We change when there is a need to change. Just as all creatures change when there is a need to change. Right now as a collective species there is no prevailing need to change. Some groups of humans do see a need to change and thats where it gets interesting. Instead of one breed of humans, just how many breeds of humans are there? No not just skin color or physical appearence but, mental, educational, emotional etc… take it all into account.
When a country person is confronted by an action that a city person does there is that derisive comment " city person" and then visa versa, “Country person”
We have names for breeds of humans. In fact quite a long list. Most are derrogatory. (We tend to dislike differences)
We adapt through nurture and nature to change to our environment. Just as lizards, monkeys, etc, do. As a collective species, a distinct change would be near improbable. Unless we all believed the same thing, had the same laws , lived in the same climate and faced the same challenges.
The world can, and does, change. It changes constantly, but slowly.
As pointed out earlier, society is nothing more or less than a collective of individual people. But people as well can, and do, change constantly. “Human nature,” as it’s referred to, is both a result of biological predisposition and social conditioning of behavior. However, the biological element is present. This means that human nature could easily change through careful breeding of human subjects to arrive at a differently minded kind of person. What are the chances of this happening? Slim to none.
Again though, the fact that the evolution of human nature is possible almost certainly means it is happening. (Evolution in this case referring not to advancement of human nature over time, but simply changes over time due to physiological changes in the brain.) As these subtle differences create a unique mental profile for every individual, we must conclude that of the nearly 7 billion people on the planet, every one has a different mindset. Of the breeding population, we will get a new generation of individuals with more new ways of thinking (some good, some bad,) and we will see unpredictable changes in human thought over time.
My thoughts on the OP is that the changing in the world and changing of humans are slightly departed from each other.
The world changed rapidly but slowly to the eyes of humans. Humans (stated by Kriswest) change when needed to, or possibly when they feel discomfort. People’s behaviors change all the time era to era. It seems to me the generation after me seems to be more sexual than previous era, is this not change, maybe not for the better but I “believe” it’s still change. When someone comments negatively how you act or says you are acting weird, you tend to try to change it. Humans always change for different causes, it’s practically inevitable.
