Christians Wasting Time

1st Corinthians 2:14
The man without the spirit does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (NIV version)

Does it make sense to any Christians out there, that for this scripture to be fulfilled, that adversity(in whatever form/means) has to be factored into the whole equation? And so therefore, in the grand scheme of things, it is necessary to always have individuals go back and forth in matters pertaining to God/Christianity/Bible?

I don’t see how adversity could be left out. Virtually all of the ancient traditions stress that it must be somehow put into perspective.

We always go back and forth because it is our “being” to do so. To do differently requires a growth of individual “being”.

Consider how Paul describes himself as the “wretched man.” It takes spiritual discernment to begin to recpgnize this opposition I’ve witnessed this lack of inner unity in myself as well so I believe it to be true. If it is true, how can we do other then go back and forth, with our inner nature in opposition as it is? From Romans 7:
