I grudgingly amit that Clinton looked and sounded presidential. More so than Trump.
This was actually the first time I liked her self presentation. Very grave. It suits her.
Largely due to Bloombergs speech, and skipping Chelseas scary performance, Im leaning slightly to not despairing about Hillary… she’s almost Egyptian in graveness tonight. Scary in a cool way.
Cant pull it off. Liking the Democrats. I only watched half a minute of Clinton and thought her image was well designed.
Now I watch this and cant help but smile all the way through.
Your attracted to the choreographed showmanship of candidates seeking election as evidence of their competency as a elected official? There is a sucker born every minute.
K: actually, yes it does, it does reflect their competency as elected officials as
does how the campaign is run…That shows their skills as managers of
a convention and a campaign… A well run campaign shows us the managerial
skills of a candidate…Form and function shows the skill of a manager…
Ive noticed this before. The virtue of politics and the reason for having this candidate in the white house is presented as a career path. The emphasis of the fact that she is a woman, of this being a triumph to share with little girls and old women - this instantly gives off a very feeble impression and a frightening prospect. That running mate choice emphasizes this scary misjudgment of the significance of world leadership, which neither Theresa May nor Angela Merkel share.
The masterful presentation that I noticed first seems to apply more to the victory of having a woman nominee. She seems actually content with this. Trump was deeply contented with his nomination, but not as content. He wants to get things done, Clinton, after having surprised me for a moment, again seems in it for the status as I see more of her speech.
I don’t know if cheerfulness is a virtue when the world is in flames.
We have specialists who spend their whole careers on making political candidates look good, including choreography. They don’t follow a president into the white house, they then work on other campaigns.
Remember how slick Obama’s campaign was, and then how quickly it fell apart imagewise? A press secretary doesn’t have the luxury of distant hypotheticals on the distant horizon.
I never by into the choreography of campaigns. I look at their history, discern their personality type as compared to other politicians, and look for patterns, and especially incongruities
Since the convention, Trump has changed his behavior, he is being choreographed just as much as Hillary is. I’m not going to by into the act anymore than I’m going to believe a woman’s bright lips and dark eyelashes, or hair is her natural colors. Your seeing something artificially contrived for increased attraction and acceptibility. An executive office, especially chief executive of a country, demands a set of skills and leadership competency. We aren’t Canada with Trudeau or Denmark with the former PM Helle Thorning-Schmidt who can afford to elect a utterly useless airhead as our leader, who merely looks good. World goes to shit, as it did under Obama when we don’t critically check a candidate in depth, and select the best.
