Sarah Palin has short changed the voters of Alaska…a day passes and nothing from Impenitent? I think that the biggest criticism against John McCain is that he is not a very good judge of character. It is called politics Mrs. Palin. You don’t quit your state because you want to help the nation…the nation is taken care of; it is your position as Gov that should be your first priority.
She may have had a political future before, but now I don’t see how any Republican could be stupid enough to elect Palin in 12…but then again nominated W twice and won, so may be Mrs Palin does have some opportunities in our so-called Democracy.
rumor has it she is facing federal embezzlement charges due to the building of the
wassila hockey rink. the company got the bid and then helped build her house
and that kids is illegal.
Errr…I actually did not describe her departure as a blow to Alaskans or a disaster for them. The Collapse I speak of is of the GOP idea of their former candidate and future contender. While she might have been the wrong selection for the vice-presidency, she was the choice of Alaskans for who they wanted as governor. She short-changed them. I slam her for her weakness in the face of what I am sure is a challenging personal and professional life.
If I was one of those that voted for her I would personally feel better if she got voted off the office than having her quit her post, because in the end, having her voted off does not objectively detract from her abilities…the other candidate might just fool a great number of ignorant voters…that is just the weakness of democracy and not of my candidate. But having her quit makes me, if I had voted for her, into a fool, into a bad judge of character, and I would feel as if my vote was robbed, for I would not have voted for a person capable of quiting when it suit her or incapable of meeting the demands of the office.
— Oh, I guess I misinterpreted:
“Sarah Palin has short changed the voters of Alaska”
O- Hey, she might have been a great governor…at least if you go by either the Lt gov or Fox News, but she short-changed the people of Alaska, her voters. You confuse the criticism of her personal decision and character with a criticism of her as governor. Besides they voted her to serve them for more years.
— “You don’t quit your state because you want to help the nation.”
O- How does that detract from her as a governor? That is true either for the best or for the worst governor.
— “I don’t see how any Republican could be stupid enough to elect Palin in 12.”
O- After becoming a public quitter…
— in thinking that Alaska had been harmed by a person you were criticising.
O- I was just now offering what you thought I had already offered before.
— If Peter is right, then she’d be gone before the end of her term, anyway.
O- Do you think she was a bad governor? Do you feel that the people of Alaska are better of because of her quitting?
— You just accused McCain of that very thing!
O- The voter is working with different chips than the Party’s Presidential Candidate. My selection, as a voter, has a higher chance of being flawed than McCain. She could have hidden things from the regular voter that a more throrough McCain could or should have picked. But it also goes to the gravity of the positions. I may vote for Sarah Palin for Gov, because she might simply be the best of two evils. But McCain had a larger field, an entire Party to choose from. My judgment is limited to the selections that were at hand but McCain’s choice was only limited by his judgment.
Don’t worry about me. By, “It’s a start,” it means I can tolerate her name popping up on the Internet, in the paper or on TV. I don’t think I’d ever vote for her, her Economic decisions are a joke.
palin, despite enjoying far higher poll numbers and approval from conservatives in and outside of her state, got totally slammed and marginalized by her own party, time and again. no one would stand up for her they all just kept using her as a punching bag… thats not to say shes all that great, but, when you get totally thrown under the bus by your own party leadership and you have FAR higher approval ratings than they did, its time to rethink your current position…
and imp may be right, well just have to see. personally i couldnt care less. but i love how everyone just loves to laugh at her, i find it absolutely amazing how well the media has accomplished their goal of brainwashing america. all they need to do is spend a week blasting someone on every channel out there, in every possible format, for any reason or no reason at all, and almost immediately everyone is yelling about how “i hate that person too! man they are so stupid!!” begging to be part of the in group crowd. hilarious.
i suggested that its the media’s fault that her own party leadership ignores and attacks her, despite she shares VERY high approval ratings among conservatives.
i said nothing about her actual knowledge or stances on any issues at all.
