Hey mike. How’s life?
Allright, I guess.
So you must be really smart by now? I can’t wait until I go to college bro.
Highschool is dreadful, they don’t teach us anything important.
Yea, I didn’t learn anything important in highschool either.
So what was the most interesting thing that you learned in college?
That I’m not as smart as I had thought I was.
Is that all?
I don’t know.
Well, you majored in philosophy, I’m sure you have some insights into
the human condition, or reality, or any of those big questions.
Not really – all I learned is what a bunch of other people got wrong
when contemplating those questions.
Well, what about in your humanities classes? I’m thinking of becoming an
English major because I love to read. I’m sure you have some insights to
share from those classes.
Well, Dave, I did like the poem “What is Grass” by Walt Whitman.
What’s the poem about mike?
Death.
So what about death?
Whitman didn’t know.
Ugh! Mike! What the hell does death have to do with grass anyway?
I don’t know.
Mike! Common now! All you say is “I don’t know,” “I don’t know,” “I don’t know!”
What in the world do you know? Anything, something, please – I’m dying for
some quality knowledge. Common Mike!
Dave, all that I don’t know is all that I know.
You don’t seem to know much Mike.
I know Dave.
