I think I’ve come unwired in some horrible way

@ 1:30:30 Hitch pulls some slick shit on Craig. He forces (though Craig doesn’t openly concede) Craig to prefer Hitch be born as an atheist instead of a Muslim if, hypothetically, Hitch could be born again. Lolz.

Craig is arguing that without God to have a reason for your existence, it would be objectively meaningless. One couldn’t say a meaningful and fulfilling life is scoring home runs and stealing bases. That’s just a fleeting opinion, etc.

But wait. Watch this. If you were to change the statement “scoring home runs and stealing bases is meaningful” to “creating universes with glorious purpose is meaningful,” you’d be able to say the latter statement is just as meaningless as the former unless the one making it (God, in this case) had, like us, a divine arbiter of objective meaning and purpose above and beyond him. If not, objective meaning and purpose would exist by pure fiat. Like a baseball player who enjoys scoring home runs and stealing bases.

I’ve yet to see a Horseman debating a theist vid where the Horseman got everything right. No I shouldn’t say that. I should say they could have hit harder. Sam’s the biggest heavyweight of em but even he misses knockout opportunities all the time.

Oh shit hold up. The resurrection is NOT grounds to believe in immortality… not in the sense they mean. A resurrection would, could, only prove that sentient creatures can become animated again after dying. This does not prove there is an immaterial substance (soul) that can enter/exit a sentient body.

So even granting that the resurrection happened - and it almost certainly didn’t - nothing of what Christians want to believe is proven by it, anyway.
