I would put this in natural sciences but, this is more about suppostions, thoughts, curiousity, philosophy, religion and chances.
We have barely,barely begun to explore our ocean’s depths. What if a sentient species is looking up while we are looking down? What if they are creating transportation devices to protect them from changing atmospheres just as we are doing. We all suppose that an alien race would have to come from above, well damn, why not from below? We don’t know enough about it to say it is impossible. So What if our first aliens are our brother earthlings?
Look at the amount of intelligent possible sentient creatures in the oceans. Look at what technology we have dropped into our oceans that we cannot find or reach. We dump what we consider garbage in the oceans everyday. What if?
Well, since we’re bouncing a rubber ball off the wall here, I suppose it would be possible. I just think it highly unlikely. Evolution tends to pick up those attributes that are more energy efficient, and it seems likely that complex (capable of sentience) organisms would require large amounts of energy expenditure in such an environment as the deep oceans. But it would be cool. Maybe the planet would have some intelligent life form after all.
Technology would be almost impossible to develop under the ocean. Even if a species had the potential to become as smart as us, no fire means no nothing.
So far, we haven’t even found another animal as smart as a monkey. In all that ocean though you’d think that some kind of creature, like humans with poor defenses, would have a little extra brain power.
Yeah, well maybe, but Mothra gave him a hell of a fight. Just proves that the ocean depths doesn’t produce any more intelligence than the surface. They watched too many Republican Election Ads on TV.
They still are intent on killing eveything.

Volcanic activity warms certain areas, also there are lava tunnels possibly deep caverns. there you go, Fire. Combustable material? Bones, dried plants, fat, our garbage, etc… Jeez we don’t even have an inkling about mineral deposits down there.With 8 tentacles, who needs thumbs. Well it doesn’t have to be tentacles but, some other form of digits or limbs. Their technology would not have to follow ours, they are in a far different atmosphere. Think about glass and its varietys.
